Digital Global Pass has leveraged the direct operator
billing system to design its payment services. How exactly are settlements
processed? To add something to your phone bill, the firm used the Header Enrichment technology. How does
this work?
You just have to select the item that you wish to purchase
and the payment solution that you
want to use. As such, when your device connects to a 3G or 4G network, your
internet provider will enrich the request for connectivity. At the same time, it
will anonymously and securely verify your identity; it will automatically
identify your phone number. This means that you do not have to manually enter
your phone number, which ensures that the process is seamless and at the same
time, it decreases the risks of mistakes occurring.
Besides the Header Enrichment tech identifying your
identity, you will also have to go through a validation step. For instance, you
have to click ‘confirm’ on the payment page. This form of dual-authentication
is necessary for the settlement to be processed. Without it, you will not be
billed for an item. Thus, it acts as a security feature that protects you and
reassures you that there will be no accidental charges.
